Facial Biometrics Boosts Features of Attendance Systems

Facial biometrics is enjoying a worldwide boom. It’s contactless, fast, and safe. As the preferred option for identity verification in recent years, we're proud to introduce this popular face recognition option to the Fingera attendance system.

Research conducted by Raconteur magazine has revealed that up to 44% of consumers prefer biometrics due to speed and convenience. Facial biometrics enables you to transform your office into a contemporary contactless workplace. Benefits include being intuitive and safe – from recording office arrivals to opening doors simply by looking into a camera.

The U.S. independent National Institute for Standards and Tech (NIST) has confirmed that Innovatrics’ facial recognition algorithm is one of the world’s most accurate. In 2019, it was ranked first among 120 algorithms in the “Wild images” category. These are low-quality non-frontal photos that the Fingera attendance system also uses.

How does it work?

Simply upload one photo of a person. The Fingera system enables face detection almost immediately. What’s more, it can even recognise masked faces, or detect and process those without face masks. The system uses several advanced fraud prevention methods such as liveness detection and only gives access to the person nearest the terminal.

Face biometric terminals

Fingera has added a new face terminal to its extensive range. With a built-in reader for cards and fingerprints, it boasts outstanding performance even in low-light. There’s also a built-in thermometer that allows you to monitor employees’ temperature as they enter the workplace. An infrared camera is used to verify a person’s liveness.
