Myth No. 1: The biometric attendance system stores the fingerprints of employees.<\/h2>\n

The Fingera attendance system<\/a>\u00a0does not store images of employee fingerprints, only so-called templates or samples are. These have long been a general standard in biometrics. All the essential elements of the fingerprint are stored in a tiny file, making the comparison several times faster. To get a better idea, it is possible to store several thousand templates in the space for an ordinary photo from a mobile phone, so the database of a large company does not take up much space.<\/p>\n

It is technically not possible to re-create a fingerprint itself <\/strong>from the samples.\u00a0A comparison template is created during the first registration, but the image itself is not saved anywhere. If, by chance, hackers steal the samples, they\u2019re useless as they cannot be used to get inside. Thanks to our own algorithm, comparisons are extremely fast. In a single second, it can find the matching fingerprint among more than a billion others.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Myth No. 2: The introduction of a biometric system means that the employer does not trust their employees.<\/h2>\n

The Fingera system is designed to make life easier and increase comfort for both employees and employers. Employers have an overview of the time worked by employees and can pay monthly wages accordingly. Employees also have an easier sign in when they arrive to work. The program also shows them how many hours they have worked in a given month and the number of remaining working days, but also displays leave and other benefits<\/a>. This overview is available to them any time. Fully transparent for both parties, it increases mutual trust<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Myth No. 3: Biometric attendance systems are expensive and mainly for large companies.<\/h2>\n

Fingera is able to adapt to the specific requirements<\/strong> of a company \u2013 be it a small, medium or large enterprise. The attendance system can be made of a single terminal, but it can also be a solution with dozens of terminals supporting cloud and virtualization technologies. Or alternatively, attendance can work exclusively on\u00a0mobile phones<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The complexity of the solution also impacts the operating costs. For example, for a small family business with eight employees, the price for the Fingera attendance system is around 10 Euros per month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Myth No. 4: Biometric attendance systems are demanding in terms of operation and administration.<\/h2>\n

You do not need any expert knowledge to set up and operate the Fingera attendance system. All essential features can also be set up using\u00a0video manuals. Fingera offers a user-friendly mobile app<\/strong> and also works in web browsers, where you can edit your attendance with one click. In addition to simplified records, companies do not have to purchase large quantities of unecological paper for attendance.<\/p>\n

Using the system itself is also convenient and simple. During the first registration with Fingera, multiple fingers are scanned, but only one of them is required when signing in. By removing cards from the sign-in process, administration is also simplified<\/strong>. This could cause problems in case cards are lost or forgotten especially in larger companies.<\/p>\n

Myth No. 5: Biometric systems only work in ideal conditions and are easy to circumvent.<\/h2>\n

Today, biometric systems are based on multispectral technology that is unaffected by weather, temperature, or other environmental factors. They are, therefore, applicable in all sectors and environments<\/strong>. The possibility that the system would mistake a random fingerprint for another is practically zero.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s similar in regard to attempts to circumvent it, for example by using photos or artificial fingers. In this aspect, a biometric access system is fundamentally different from others based on passwords or cards. Cards can be stolen or voluntarily provided to others, and the same can be done with a password. However, biometrics can ensure, for example, that a missing employee cannot be signed in by friends.\u00a0Attendance data is therefore much more reliable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
